Callaghan Family

Joe and Chloe have two little girls. They recently joined Acres of Hope in Liberia at the end of 2007. They are currently on furlow in the US and are working to raise support so they can move back to Liberia and rejoin Acres of Hope as full time missionaries.

Lynda Powers

Lynda Powers

Lynda Powers is an ER nurse with a love of Liberia. Before becoming full-time missionaries, Lynda and her husband Rich made several trips to Liberia for medical clinic missions in the bush, where each of them was able to put their different talents and skills to much-needed use on behalf of those who have little or no access to medical care. It was on one of these trips that the Powers got connected with Acres of Hope. Hating to tear themselves away and return home, Rich and Lynda decided to take the plunge and move to Liberia permanently.
Rich now works with a construction company, and Lynda provides nursing care to AOHL's children. Rich and Lynda have three grown sons, but are always surrounded by children--and that's just the way they like it.

Reto Family

Reto Family

Dave, Val, and Justin Reto are preparing to travel as missionaries to Liberia with Acres of Hope to oversee the new Sustainable Agriculture Training Center (SAT Center) project .
Acres of Hope Liberia has been given a land grant of 100 acres located between Monrovia and the Roberts International Airport that will be the site of the new SAT Center.
AOH is establishing the SAT Center to demonstrate and teach sustainable production methods for fresh healthy vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, livestock, and other food sources including fish raised in integrated aquaponics systems.
The food produced at the SAT Center will be used to feed participants in AOHL's humanitarian programs--missions, medical clinic, schools, orphanages--as well as others in the community.
You can view their blog to learn more about this missionary family at: http://www.retofamily.blogspot.com/
