Charitable Needs

"You have not lived a perfect day even though you have earned money unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

-- Helen Keller

Please see the Acres of Hope Projects page for more information about our humanitarian work and building projects.

You can help support Acres of Hope's ministry to the needy children of Liberia. Below you will find an itemized list of immediate needs. Please consider how God may be asking you to help the children of Liberia.

  • Sponsor Building Projects . The Village of Hope is a multi-generational self-sustaining community of hope.  It will enhance the lives of Liberians from newborns to octogenarians.  The Bridge of Hope Center is a new multi-use facility that will include an emergency placement transitional care center for abandoned children and also house a medical clinic, expandable orphanage space, guest rooms, and missionary housing.
  • Sponsor Orphan Relief . Each container we send to Africa is filled with daily necessities and supplies for our projects OR food for the children . The approximate total cost to ship just one container from the US to Liberia is $8000.
  • Sponsor Community Development .  Donations can help build schools and wells, train teachers or medical staff, prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and the accidental ingestion of caustic soda solutions.
  • Donate Items to Support the Ministry .  You may take these with you when you travel or send them to other families who are traveling.  Feel free to print the list below for your convenience.  If you have items you would like to donate and are not traveling soon, please send them to: Acres of Hope, 602 Sterling Street, Sedro Woolley, WA 98284 ATTN: Terri Cannon
  • ( Click here ) to download a simple Adobe Acrobat writable form that may be used when taking donations over to Liberia or sending them to Terri, that outlines briefly what you have given, and the cost you have spent.
  • "Due to new import restrictions on clothing, we are restricted to sending only children's clothing, size 12 months to 5 T.
Also do not send socks, jackets, sleeper pj's, long pants, long sleeve shirts, or sweatshirts, or any other warm weather type clothing. These are not weather appropriate for Liberia. You may still send cloth diapers, and all other items on our donations list."

RAINY SEASON NEEDS: May-Oct.

Rainy season makes it so we need about twice as many diapers and sheets as usual. Also, the clothes and the diapers do suffer a lot of wear and tear with the constant hand washing.
A lot of the diapers are falling apart. And the big kids especially go through their clothes very fast.
